TWICE - Two Way Interactive Connections in Education

TWICE is Michigan’s main organization for promoting the educational use of videoconferencing, administered primarily by Copper County, Berrien County, and Washtenaw County Intermediate School Districts. TWICE has a very broad range of resources from professional development materials to technical instructions for configuring a videoconferencing unit.


NASA's Digital Learning Network

NASA provides videoconferencing and webcasting (one-way interaction) opportunities that tie into science, and specifically technology, curriculums. Their services have recently expanded from their original NASA Live project into an entirely new distance learning program.

Megaconference Junior is an ambitious annual project that literally connects classrooms around the world in one gigantic videoconference. Site also has resources for applying the event to national and local curriculum standards.


University of Wisconsin Distance Learning Clearinghouse

The Distance Learning Clearinghouse contains national resources for videoconferencing, as well as other distance learning, opportunities. The database is vast, which is both a positive and negative aspect of the site. The link above takes you directly to their K-12 section of the website.


The SBC Videoconferencing Directory

This directory contains information on over 1,300 videoconferencing opportunities for K-12 schools. When you access the homepage listed above, scroll down your web browser to find a detailed list of search criteria to assist searching the directory.

Event Selection Evaluation

This evaluation tool will assist you in determining if a particular conference is right for your overall needs. To use this tool, you must have a description and registration details of the videoconference from the origination site, as well as knowledge of your audience/classes’ past and upcoming curriculum goals.

Post-Event Evaluation

This tool is intended to be used immediately after participation in a videoconference in order to determine the effectiveness or usefulness of the experience. Once completed, the tool will give you knowledge to refer to when looking at similar conferences, or conferences from the same originator, in the future.
